Postcard Penguins Mini Art Print

3,00 €
A mini art print of a watercolor emperor penguin pair. A beautiful little piece of fine art for bird lovers.

The emperor penguin in quite fascinating. Even just for the fact that they live ad thrive in one of the world's most extreme climates. I particularly like that they seem so calm, so gentle, so accepting of their faith; yet must be fierce, determined and strong to survive in the Antarctic.
This work was a commission for one of my friends, and I was a little nervous when accepting it. I usually paint plants in one way or the other; so birds ...? But I had so much fun painting these strong contrasts and then those lovely yellow cheeks. I didn't want to paint the typical emperors' pose where they cuddle, so I decided to go for a pose in which a pair stands supports each other and works as a team to look at all sides around them. A bit as in saying "I've got your back".
